Raes on Wategos

Six suites occupy a whitewashed Mediterranean-style villa at Wategos Beach, Byron Bay's calmest cove, sheltered from the main beach crowds by the Cape Byron headland. The position is rare: the sand is steps below the terrace, and the Cape Byron Lighthouse — Australia's most easterly point — is visible from every room.

Each suite is individually furnished with timber floors and private balconies facing the Pacific. The on-site restaurant, helmed by a long-standing kitchen team, sources from the Northern Rivers hinterland and is open to non-staying guests by reservation.

Wategos sits a ten-minute walk along the coastal path from Byron Bay town centre. The break below the property draws consistent surf; dolphins appear in the bay most mornings.
