Most visitors stay two to three nights; Manas International Airport is 25 km north, roughly 30 minutes by taxi.

Where to Stay in Each District

Ala-Too Square anchors the centre — hotels here put guests within a 10-minute walk of the State Historical Museum, the Philharmonic, and the main bazaars. Chui Avenue (Chuysky Prospekt) is the main commercial spine; hotels along it offer easy access to restaurants and marshrutka routes. The South Side, near Panfilov Park and Dordoi Plaza, is preferred by budget travellers and long-stay guests. The Bishkek Botanical Garden neighbourhood is quieter and walkable from the American University of Central Asia.

Getting Around

Marshrutkas (shared minibuses) run fixed routes for 10–15 KGS per ride and cover most of the city. Taxis via the inDriver or Yandex Go apps cost roughly 100–300 KGS for cross-city trips. The airport has no rail link; taxi or private transfer is standard.
