About 1977 GUEST house
Fourteen beds across a Soviet-era guesthouse on Kutmanalieva Street, 1977 Guest House takes its name from the year the building was completed under Kyrgyz SSR construction standards. The property sits four blocks from Karakol's central bazaar and twelve minutes on foot from the Przhevalsky Museum.
Rooms keep the original timber window frames and thick plaster walls. A shared kitchen allows guests to store and prepare food bought at the bazaar, a practical edge in a city where trekking provisions run cheaper at the market.
Karakol anchors the eastern end of Issyk-Kul and serves as the main staging point for Tian Shan treks. Marshrutkas to Bishkek depart from the bus station six blocks north; guides for the Ala-Kul and Karakol Valley routes can be arranged through the front desk.
