Stay at the Sunburst

Eight mid-century bungalows ring a central firepit on Sunburst Circle, roughly two miles from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. The property sits inside the residential grid of Joshua Tree village, where the nearest gear shop and diner are a short walk along Park Boulevard.

Each bungalow is freestanding, offering more separation between guests than a standard motel corridor allows. The desert setting means temperatures swing sharply after dark — the outdoor firepit becomes the default gathering point most evenings.

Joshua Tree village is the practical base for the park's western trails, including Hidden Valley and Barker Dam. The Twentynine Palms north entrance, used for Cholla Cactus Garden access, is a twenty-minute drive east.
