Plaza Hotel & Casino

Between the Fremont Street Experience canopy and the historic rail yard it was built on, Plaza Hotel & Casino occupies the site of the original Union Pacific depot at the head of Main Street. The four-star property gives downtown Las Vegas its most direct rail-history claim, a practical base for visitors touring Fremont Street on foot rather than the Strip by car.

Rooms above the casino floor face either Fremont Street's neon or the rail yard's open rear lot, quieter after midnight. Tennis courts on the roof, unusual for downtown, date to the property's 1970s design.
