About Spice Bazaar

El Spice Bazaar —conocido también como el Bazar Egipcio (Mısır Çarşısı)— es uno de los grandes mercados cubiertos de Estambul, situado en el barrio de Eminönü. Levantado en la década de 1660 como parte del complejo de la Mezquita Nueva (Yeni Cami), fue durante siglos punto de entrada de mercancías procedentes de Egipto. Hoy, sus galerías abovedadas rebosan de puestos con especias, frutas desecadas, frutos secos, lokum y toda clase de tés. El mercado se encuentra en el distrito de Fatih, a escasa distancia del Puente de Gálata y del barrio de Sirkeci. Abre todos los días de la semana, aunque los domingos cierra antes.
