Lodge Quelana

Near the Ayllu de Solor irrigation channel on the quiet eastern fringe of San Pedro de Atacama, Lodge Quelana occupies a low adobe compound built in the vernacular Atacameño style — earthen walls thick enough to hold the desert cold at bay through the high-altitude nights.

The lodge sits roughly 800m from San Pedro's central plaza, far enough to escape the backpacker strip noise while keeping Valle de la Luna and the El Tatio geyser road within easy reach. Conaf checkpoint access for the Atacama salt flat runs directly past the Quelana address.

Stargazing here is exceptional: at 2,400m elevation and clear of town light scatter, the Milky Way is overhead on most nights. Guided astronomy sessions can be arranged through the lodge's preferred local operator.
