About Modo homestay komodo village
Fourteen rooms inside a family-run homestay in Kampung Komodo, the village that borders Komodo National Park on the island's eastern shore. Guests wake within walking distance of the ranger station and the park's main jetty — no boat transfer required to begin morning trail access.
The homestay operates as a working household; meals are home-cooked Indonesian dishes served at communal tables, and staff arrange guided treks to see Komodo dragons at close range on the park trails. Rooms are simple and air-cooled, built to the pace of island life rather than resort comfort.
Komodo village itself is a Bajo (sea nomad) settlement, one of the few permanent communities inside the national park boundary — a detail most visitors miss entirely from their day-trip liveaboards.
