Ryuguden

Stretched along the wooded shore of Lake Ashi at Motohakone, Ryuguden is a traditional ryokan with tatami-floored rooms that frame direct water views toward the Hakone volcanic ridge. On clear mornings, Mount Fuji rises above the lake's far edge — a sightline that few properties in the region can claim from indoor seating.

Open-air and public hot spring baths draw on Hakone's geothermal supply; the spa adds full-body, couples', and foot massage treatments. The restaurant serves kaiseki-style meals delivered to guest rooms on request, and the on-site concierge arranges shuttle connections to the Hakone Tozan railway and Motohakone ferry pier, both within walking distance.

Bicycle rental makes the lakeside trail accessible without a car. Check-in opens at 15:00; check-out is 11:00.
