Uji Tea Inn

Twelve kilometres south of Kyoto's historic core, Uji Tea Inn occupies Ogura-cho's Terauchi district — Uji's quieter residential flank, away from the riverside tourist trail near Byodoin Temple. A practical base for travellers who want day access to both central Kyoto and Nara without paying city-centre rates.

The inn offers family rooms alongside standard accommodation, free WiFi throughout, and private parking on site — useful given Uji's spread-out layout where a car simplifies temple-hopping between Ujigami Shrine and the southern Fushimi neighbourhoods. An airport shuttle removes the need to navigate Kansai International with luggage.
