Riad Altair

Converted from a 19th-century merchant house in Derb Zaouia, deep in Marrakech's Medina, Riad Altair keeps its original cedar ceilings and zellige-tiled courtyard fountain as the building's core. Narrow alleys make it a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna, an easy base for travellers who want souk access without traffic noise.

Rooms open onto the courtyard rather than corridors, so light and sound both funnel inward. Breakfast is taken rooftop, with views across Medina satellite dishes toward the Koutoubia minaret.

Staff arrange gate pickup, since taxis cannot enter the alley itself.
