Set behind an unmarked door on Derb El Hammame in Marrakech's Mouassine quarter, Riad Bibtia keeps its courtyard hidden from the street in traditional style, with a plunge pool and citrus trees beneath three floors of rooms. The souks around Rue Mouassine sit five minutes on foot, closer than most riads reach without a guide.

Breakfast is taken on the roof terrace, weather permitting, with Koutoubia's minaret visible above the medina rooftops. Rooms keep tadelakt walls and cedar doors rather than hotel-standard fittings.
