Riad Karmela

Twelve rooms wrap a tiled courtyard behind an unmarked door in the Azbezt quarter of Marrakech's medina, Riad Karmela keeping its cedar ceilings and tadelakt walls original to the building rather than remodeled for uniformity. A plunge pool anchors the ground floor.

Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace, msemen and orange juice against the medina skyline. Jemaa el-Fna sits an eight-minute walk through narrow derbs, close enough for evening food-stall visits without the square's noise reaching the riad.

Staff arrange airport pickup, since taxis rarely find unmarked entrances alone.
