Riad Lyla

Opposite the Mouassine fountain in Marrakech's northern medina, Riad Lyla occupies a restored courtyard house on Derb Ouartani, its zellige-tiled patio open to the sky above a small plunge pool. Rooms sit on two floors around the courtyard, reached by a stone staircase original to the house.

A rooftop terrace clears the surrounding rooflines for sunset views over the medina and the distant Atlas foothills. Breakfast is taken there or in the courtyard, depending on season.

Mouassine mosque and souk stand steps away, and Jemaa el-Fna is a ten-minute walk through the medina's narrow lanes — a quiet base for travellers wanting souk access without traffic noise.
