Riad Shama & Traditions

Twenty paces inside the Zaouia Abbassia ramparts, Riad Shama & Traditions occupies a restored courtyard house on Taht Sour Lakbir, its tiled patio open to the sky and ringed by carved cedar balconies. The medina's northern gates sit closer here than the souks of the main square, a quieter approach for travellers wary of the busiest lanes.

Rooms keep zellige tilework and tadelakt plaster walls; a rooftop terrace looks toward the Koutoubia minaret at a distance. Breakfast is taken by the plunge pool when weather allows.

Jemaa el-Fnaa lies a twenty-minute walk south through narrow passages best navigated by daylight.
