Dar sultana

The riad tucked inside Rabat's Oudayas kasbah, Dar Sultana occupies a restored merchant house on Rue Jamaa Oudayas, steps from the 12th-century kasbah gate and the whitewashed lanes leading down to the Bou Regreg estuary. It suits travelers wanting a walkable, car-free base away from the Ville Nouvelle's traffic.

Rooms open onto a tiled interior courtyard rather than the street, keeping them shaded through Rabat's summer heat. A rooftop terrace looks over the kasbah's blue-and-white rooftops toward the Atlantic breakwater.
