Central Courtyard - Heritage Hötel & Artisan Café

Three restored Newari townhouses joined behind a brick courtyard in Kathmandu's Thamel district, Central Courtyard blends carved wooden lattice windows with lime-washed walls and hand-knotted Dhaka textile accents throughout its rooms.

The ground-floor artisan café sources single-origin beans from Himalayan mid-hill farms in Kavre and Sindhupalchok — a detail absent from most Thamel coffee stops. Rooms vary in size and ceiling height depending on which of the three structures they occupy; guests should request upper-floor rooms for views toward Swayambhunath stupa.

Durbar Square sits roughly twelve minutes on foot heading south; the domestic terminal at Tribhuvan Airport is a twenty-minute taxi ride. Late arrivals are accommodated with a staffed front desk through midnight.
