La Cotte The Manor House

Eight rooms inside a Cape Dutch manor on La Cotte Street, La Cotte The Manor House occupies one of Franschhoek's older residential plots, with hardwood floors and a garden that backs toward the valley's vine-covered slopes.

The outdoor pool and sun deck face the mountains; guests receive wine or champagne on arrival and can order further pours from the bar without leaving the garden. All rooms sit on the ground floor, each with a private bathroom and bathtub.

Franschhoek's main restaurant strip runs a short walk from the gate — the valley holds more Michelin-quality kitchens per kilometre than almost anywhere else in South Africa. An airport shuttle connects to Cape Town International, roughly 75 kilometres away.
