Moon Plains Forest Log

Above the tea-country ridgeline at Moon Plains, this log cabin property sits at roughly 2,000 metres elevation in the Magastota highlands outside Nuwara Eliya — high enough that mist rolls through the surrounding forest before most guests finish breakfast.

Each unit comes with a balcony facing either mountain or river, a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and mosquito nets over the beds. Upper floors are stairs-only, and the lack of a lift keeps the atmosphere firmly off-grid. Hiking trails lead directly from the grounds into the cloud-forest belt of Moon Plains itself, one of Sri Lanka's least-visited highland plateaus.

Nuwara Eliya town is a short drive down the switchbacks, with the Nanu Oya railway station connecting to Ella and Kandy. Car rental is available on-site for guests exploring the hill country independently.
