Nilaveli Shan Guest

Two minutes from Nilaveli's pale coral-sand shore, Shan Guest sits along Beach Road at the quieter northern stretch of Trincomalee's coastline, well clear of the town's port traffic.

The three-star guesthouse keeps a small-scale feel suited to the pace of Nilaveli — a beach that draws snorkellers heading to Pigeon Island National Park, reachable by boat from the nearby jetty. Rooms are simply furnished and face either the garden or the lane.

Nilaveli lies roughly 16 kilometres north of Trincomalee town, connected by a single coastal road. The surrounding area offers some of Sri Lanka's least-crowded swimming beaches, with peak season running from May through September when the east coast clears.
