Hotels in Guilin

The most convenient bases in Guilin are the city-center lakeside district around Two Rivers and Four Lakes for easy monument access; Yangshuo, 60 km south on the Li River, for a village atmosphere inside the karst landscape; and the Seven Star Park corridor for quieter mid-range options. Most visitors stay three to four nights; Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is 28 km from downtown.

The Two Rivers and Four Lakes district — where the Lijiang and Taohua rivers meet Rong, Shan, Gui, and Mulong lakes — places guests within walking distance of Elephant Trunk Hill and the nightly illuminated water shows. International chains and boutique guesthouses both cluster here. Yangshuo, 60 km downriver, suits travelers who want karst peaks on three sides; West Street offers cafés, bike rentals, and direct Li River access. The Seven Star Park corridor, east of the city center, offers calmer streets and lower rates while remaining on the city bus network.

Getting Around

City buses cover the main districts for under ¥2. High-speed rail connects Guilin North Station to Guangzhou in roughly 3 hours and to Guiyang in 2.5 hours. The Li River cruise from Guilin pier to Yangshuo spans approximately 83 km and takes four to five hours; book tickets at least two days ahead during peak season (April–October).
