Naramatisho Womens Centre & Maasai Cultural Stay

Twelve kilometres from the Lake Manyara park gate, the Naramatisho Women's Centre in Makuyuni operates as both a working Maasai cultural organisation and a small guesthouse — one of very few stays in the region run by and for local women. Ground-floor rooms are fully wheelchair accessible, each with mosquito nets, private bathroom, and garden or mountain views toward the Rift Valley escarpment.

Guests can arrange cultural programming directly through the centre, which distinguishes it from standard safari lodges nearby. An on-site coffee house, outdoor fireplace, and picnic area give the compound a communal feel; packed lunches and room service suit early safari departures. Special diet meals are available on request.

Makuyuni sits on the Arusha–Dodoma road, making Tarangire National Park a 30-minute drive south.
