About Rubuguri community home
Behind the trading post of Rubuguri village, this community-run guesthouse sits at the forest edge where Bwindi Impenetrable National Park's northern sector begins — gorilla permit holders use it as the closest affordable base to the Rushaga and Nkuringo trailheads.
Rooms are simple brick-and-timber, fitted with mosquito nets and locally woven textiles. Meals are prepared from produce grown in surrounding shambas; the kitchen will adapt timing to pre-dawn gorilla trek departures.
Rubuguri itself is a quiet junction town rather than a resort node, which keeps costs low and contact with local farming families high. Bwindi's mist-forest canopy is visible from the compound at first light.
