Menger Hotel

Across Alamo Plaza from the Alamo shrine itself, the Menger Hotel has occupied this corner of San Antonio since 1859, making it one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in Texas. Theodore Roosevelt reportedly recruited Rough Riders in the bar, a wood-paneled room modeled on the tap room of the House of Lords.
