Three bungalows deep in a fig-tree garden on the Hương River's southern bank, Vả Riverside Retreat takes its name from the vả fig native to Huế's waterways — a detail that sets the mood before guests unpack.

Each room opens onto a private balcony above the water; breakfast arrives by room service rather than a shared buffet. An outdoor pool sits beside the river, a foot bath station occupies the shaded terrace, and BBQ facilities and themed dinners make evenings self-contained. Bicycles rent on site for the 8km ride into central Huế.

The Thủy Bằng bank is quieter than the tourist strip near Trường Tiền Bridge, putting Huế's Imperial Citadel within cycling distance while keeping the retreat genuinely rural.
