The Wat Bo neighborhood, east of the river, is quieter and preferred by longer-stay visitors. The Airport Road corridor hosts larger resort properties with pools, roughly 3 km from the temple ticket gate at Angkor Thom.

• Transport: Tuk-tuks cover the 8 km from town to Angkor Wat in about 20 minutes; negotiate a half-day or full-day rate.
• Climate: November to March is dry season with temperatures 25–32 °C — the most comfortable period for temple walks.
• Currency: USD is accepted almost everywhere; carry small bills for temple-area vendors.
