Eight kilometres south of Plitvice Lakes' main entrance, Apartment Maatoug occupies a family house on Ripac - Kosare road outside the park boundary, where traffic and coach-tour crowds thin out considerably compared to the gateway village of Rastovača.

Units keep their own kitchenettes, useful given the nearest restaurant is a short drive rather than a walk. The Korana river valley here is quieter and better suited to travelers with a car who want the park itself, not the roadside strip near the ticket gates.
