About Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa: White Sand, Clear Water, and a 16th-Century Monastery

Ayia Napa sits at the southeastern tip of Cyprus, roughly 40 km east of Larnaca International Airport. The town is built around a Venetian monastery completed in 1570, which still stands at the centre of the square amid restaurants and open-air clubs. Two kilometres of Nissi Beach — fine white sand grading into turquoise water — draws visitors from across Europe between May and October. The Cape Greko National Forest Park, 5 km east, adds sea caves, cliff walks, and snorkelling sites to the coastal offer.

Where to Stay in Ayia Napa

Hotels cluster along the Nissi Avenue strip and the Makronissos headland to the west. The Nissi Avenue corridor suits nightlife-focused visitors; the Makronissos end is quieter and family-oriented. Smaller guesthouses line the streets near Seferis Square, within walking distance of the monastery and the harbour.
