Peyia traditional house

An early-20th-century village house on Georgiou Griva Digeni in Peyia, this traditional property sits in the hill village above Coral Bay, where the Akamas Peninsula begins its westward reach toward Cape Drepano.

The stone construction typical of Cypriot vernacular architecture keeps rooms cool through summer afternoons without mechanical assistance. Local tavernas serving halloumi and souvla line the main square fewer than three minutes on foot from the front door.

Coral Bay's sandy crescent lies roughly two kilometres downhill, reachable by car or the local bus that stops on the village road. The Akamas nature trails — among the least-developed coastal walking in the eastern Mediterranean — begin at the peninsula edge fifteen minutes by car.
