Le Clos de Gally

Two private pools serve a maison de caractère on Médan's Grande Rue, a village in the Seine valley 35km west of Paris known as the retreat Émile Zola chose for his country estate.

Rooms combine hardwood floors, bathtubs, and garden or pool views; a dining area with toaster, coffee machine, and refrigerator allows guests to self-cater. Fold-up beds make the interconnecting rooms practical for families. Upper floors are stairs-only, worth noting before arrival.

The outdoor swimming pool and sun deck face the enclosed garden, which also has loungers and outdoor dining furniture. Médan sits on the Poissy rail line, putting Saint-Lazare roughly 40 minutes away without a car. Parking on site removes the usual commuter-belt stress.
