Soorts-Hossegor: Surf Capital of the Landes Coast

Soorts-Hossegor sits in the Landes department of southwestern France, roughly 20 km north of Bayonne and 100 km south of Bordeaux. The town splits into two distinct zones: the lakeside quarter around Lac d'Hossegor, lined with 1920s–1930s Basque-influenced villas and boutique restaurants, and the Atlantic-facing beach districts — La Gravière, Les Culs Nuls, and La Nord — which generate some of Europe's heaviest beach-break waves. Visitors arriving by rail use Capbreton–Hossegor station, served by TER trains from Bayonne (12 min) and Bordeaux (90 min).
