About Bocenago

Bocenago: Small Mountain Village

Bocenago is a small mountain village in Val Rendena, Trentino, sitting at roughly 800 metres above sea level in the Italian Alps. The village lies within the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, whose dolomitic peaks and glacial lakes define the surrounding landscape. Madonna di Campiglio, one of Italy's leading ski resorts, is about 15 kilometres north along the SS239 road, making Bocenago a quieter base for visitors priced out of the resort centre or seeking a slower pace between ski days and summer hikes.

The village attracts nature-focused travellers: hikers in summer, skiers and snowshoers in winter. The Adamello Brenta Park covers over 600 square kilometres and shelters brown bears reintroduced under the Life Ursus project begun in 1999. Cycling routes follow the Sarca river valley floor, and several agriturismo farms in the commune offer local Trentino products including speck, wild berry preserves, and Trentodoc sparkling wine.

Bocenago is served by regional buses connecting Val Rendena to Trento, roughly 60 kilometres southeast. The nearest rail station is Trento on the VeronaBrenner main line. Most guests arrive by car via the A22 Autostrada del Brennero, exiting at Trento Nord.
