Pinzolo sits at 770 m in the Val Rendena, Trentino, at the foot of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park — Italy's third-largest protected alpine area. The town connects directly to the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta ski circuit, which shares lifts with Madonna di Campiglio 12 km north and covers over 150 km of marked pistes. Winter draws skiers and snowboarders from late November through April; summer brings hikers targeting the granite towers of the Brenta Dolomites and the Nardis waterfalls, a 130 m cascade reachable on foot from town.

The parish church of San Vigilio holds a 1539 fresco cycle by Simone Baschenis depicting the Danza Macabra — a Dance of Death — painted directly onto the exterior wall. It is one of the best-preserved examples of this medieval allegory in the Alps and gives Pinzolo cultural weight beyond the ski season. Val Rendena cuisine leans on cured meats, local trout, and aged Trentingrana cheese — served in rifugi on the mountain slopes and in family-run restaurants along the main corso.
