Ottiglio is a small hilltop comune in the Monferrato zone of Piedmont, set in the province of Alessandria. The surrounding landscape is defined by vine-covered slopes that produce Grignolino and Barbera DOC wines — grapes that have shaped this corner of northern Italy for centuries. The village sits roughly 30 kilometres northeast of Asti and about 70 kilometres from Turin, placing it within reach of two of Piedmont's main rail hubs.
