Ak-Sai Travel Karkyra Yurt Camp

Twelve felt yurts spread across the Karkyra valley on Issyk Kul's eastern edge, each raised on wooden lattice frames and heated by a central wood stove rather than electric units, since the camp sits off the regional grid.

Shared washhouses use solar-warmed water; meals are cooked communally and served in the largest yurt, built around a low table for the whole camp to eat together.

The valley opens toward the Tian Shan foothills, a base suited to travelers riding or trekking rather than day-tripping from Karakol, which lies roughly two hours west by road.
