BarBulak Yurt Lodge

Stretched along the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Ton district, BarBulak Yurt Lodge places guests inside traditional felt yurts rather than built structures, keeping the Tian Shan foothills as the immediate backdrop.

The lodge sits away from the lake's busier northern resort strip, where the shoreline stays quieter and the water clearer. Horses are typically available for guided rides into the surrounding steppe, and the kitchen prepares kumiss and traditional Kyrgyz lamb dishes using local sourcing.

Issyk-Kul never freezes despite its altitude — a detail that surprises most visitors. The nearest town with transport connections is Bokonbaevo, roughly 20 kilometres west along the shore road.
