Hostel Flakos

Past the fishing village of Barra de Potosí, where the paved road gives way to palapa roofs and pelicans, Hostel Flakos occupies a ground-floor property at the lagoon's edge with direct beach access and a outdoor pool facing the Pacific.

The activity list runs unusually deep for a hostel: canoeing, snorkeling, diving, horseback riding, and cycling are all bookable on-site, with yoga classes and evening entertainment filling the slower hours. A shared kitchen, bar, and outdoor fireplace anchor the communal spaces, giving the property a camp-lodge character rather than a budget-crash feel.

Barra de Potosí sits roughly 18km south of Zihuatanejo, far enough to feel removed from the resort strip yet close enough for a day trip by local bus — transit tickets are sold at the front desk.
