Karawan Riad

Folded into the medina's Derb Ourbia alley, Karawan Riad occupies a restored merchant house where a tiled courtyard and carved cedar ceilings sit steps from the Fès el Bali souks. Its narrow entrance keeps the interior insulated from street noise, a quiet counterpoint for travellers touring the tanneries and Al Quaraouiyine mosque nearby.

Rooms open onto the central patio rather than corridors, each with hand-finished zellige tilework. Staff arrange guided walks through the medina's blind alleys, useful given the lack of street signage.

Bab Boujloud gate is a ten-minute walk, making the riad workable without a car.
