Riad Safran & Soleil

Five rooms around a saffron-tiled courtyard in Marrakech's southern Mellah fringe, Riad Safran & Soleil takes its name from the safran fields that once edged this quarter of the medina. The roof terrace faces the Atlas foothills on clear mornings.

Each room carries hand-cut zellige tilework and locally woven wool blankets; no two share the same colour palette. Breakfast is served courtyard-side and draws on the Mellah's spice market two streets north — preserved lemon, argan oil, and msemen flatbread are regulars on the tray.

Sidi Ayoub sits a fifteen-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna and closer still to the Mellah's Jewish heritage quarter and the Bahia Palace gardens. Only nineteen guests have reviewed the property to date, giving it an unusual freshness in Marrakech's saturated riad market.
