Riad Sarayas

Below the ramparts of Kasbah Tifoultout, one kilometre outside Ouarzazate's centre, Riad Sarayas occupies a traditional village house in Aghane where the Draa Valley light turns the pisé walls copper at dusk.

The riad format delivers an inward-facing courtyard shielded from the desert wind, with rooms arranged around a central garden rather than along a corridor. Ouarzazate's role as Morocco's film-production hub — Atlas Studios is a short drive west — makes this a practical base for day trips toward Aït Benhaddou, twenty minutes north on the N9.

The Kasbah Tifoultout itself, a restored 19th-century fortress, is walkable from the front door and open to visitors most mornings.
