Dar Salam

Inside the medina walls of Rabat, Dar Salam occupies a restored riad on Rue Sidi El Ghemari, its rooms arranged around a tiled central courtyard rather than facing the narrow lane outside. The Kasbah of the Udayas lies a ten-minute walk north, and the Hassan Tower across the river valley is reachable by taxi in under fifteen minutes — a fitting base for travellers who want the old city on foot rather than a car.

Rooftop breakfast looks over the medina's flat roofs toward the Bou Regreg estuary. Staff arrange guided walks through the souks for guests unfamiliar with the medina's layout, useful given the lack of street signage inside the walls.
