Dar Nakhla Naciria

Fourteen rooms fill this restored riad on Rue Naciria, tucked in Tangier's old medina behind an unmarked wooden door typical of the quarter's traditional houses. A central courtyard with a citrus tree channels light down through three floors of carved plaster and zellige tile.

The rooftop terrace looks toward the Strait of Gibraltar, close enough on clear days to see the Spanish coast. Breakfast is served there each morning, weather permitting.

The Petit Socco sits a five-minute walk downhill, and the American Legation museum two streets over, making the address a practical base for exploring the medina on foot rather than by taxi.
