Dar Rif Kebdani

Beside the American Legation quarter in Tangier's old medina, Dar Rif Kebdani occupies a restored riad on Rue Mohamed Bergach, its whitewashed courtyard open three storeys to the sky. Cabin bags only fit through the final alley stretch — porters meet guests at Petit Socco.

Rooms keep original cedar ceilings and zellige-tiled bathrooms; a rooftop terrace faces the Strait of Gibraltar toward Spain on clear days. Breakfast is Moroccan pastries and mint tea, served until 11:00.

The medina's Grand Socco lies a six-minute walk north, useful for travellers who want the old city without driving in it.
