Dar Sekka

Inside the medina's Rue Sekka, a narrow lane too tight for cars, Dar Sekka occupies a restored merchant house arranged around a tiled central courtyard open to the sky. Rooms sit on two upper floors, each reached by a steep tiled staircase rather than an elevator.

Breakfast is served on the roof terrace, facing the Strait of Gibraltar and, on clear mornings, the Spanish coastline. The Petit Socco square lies five minutes on foot, with the Kasbah museum a short climb beyond it — a fitting base for travellers wanting the old city on foot rather than by taxi.
