Lumière de Tanger

Hidden within the Marshan plateau above Tangier's medina, Lumière de Tanger occupies a private apartment building where each unit opens onto a terrace with sea views across the Strait of Gibraltar toward the Spanish coast.

Apartments are fully self-contained: kitchen with stovetop and oven, washing machine, dining area, and soundproofed rooms with tile floors. Private check-in removes any front-desk formality, and the elevator reaches upper floors. The convenience store on site handles daily provisions without leaving the building.

Marshan is Tangier's quietest residential hill, historically favored by artists and diplomats, sitting above the Grand Socco yet insulated from its noise. The clifftop Café Hafa, a longtime haunt of Paul Bowles, is a ten-minute walk.
