Riad Jardin des Orangers

Forty kilometres east of Agadir along the Souss plain, Riad Jardin des Orangers occupies a traditional riad within Taroudant's ancient medina, a walled city often called 'little Marrakech' for its red-ochre ramparts and unhurried souks.

The garden courtyard gives the property its name — orange trees shade the central fountain, and breakfast is served beneath them through the cooler months. Rooms draw on local tadelakt plasterwork and hand-woven Amazigh textiles rather than imported furnishings.

Taroudant sits two hours from Marrakech and one from the Atlas foothills, making it a quieter base for Souss Valley exploration. The weekly Thursday and Sunday souks draw craftspeople from surrounding villages.
