Anchored on the Tapu–Coroglen Road where the Firth of Thames shoreline meets dense kauri-and-tree-fern bush, Kōtare Cabin places guests in a single adults-only retreat with uninterrupted sea views across to the Hauraki Gulf. The open-air bath on the terrace is the standout feature — guests soak facing the water as kingfishers (kōtare, the cabin's namesake) work the tidal edge below.

The full kitchen runs to oven, stovetop, microwave, and coffee machine, so self-catering is straightforward. A BBQ and outdoor dining furniture extend meals onto the terrace when weather allows. Board games and a radio cover the no-WiFi hours.

Coromandel Town lies roughly twenty minutes north by car, supplying provisions and the 360 Discovery ferry to Auckland. Fishing and hiking trails start directly from the property.
