Wine Tourism - Quinta do Ameal

Quinta do Ameal sits within a working estate in Refoios do Lima, a rural parish four kilometres east of Ponte de Lima along the Lima River valley. The property is one of the Vinho Verde region's oldest demarcated quintas, with vine rows dating to the eighteenth century still producing Loureiro-dominant whites under the estate label — guests can taste directly from the source rather than at a tasting room removed from production.

Accommodation is country-house style with private entrances, kitchenettes, fireplaces, and garden-view terraces. An outdoor pool sits among the vines, and the estate organises canoeing and fishing on the Lima as well as bike and walking tours through the surrounding agricultural valley.

Ponte de Lima, Portugal's oldest municipality by charter, is reachable in under ten minutes by car; its Monday market along the medieval bridge is one of the country's longest-running.
