Hotel Rector

Forty-eight metres from the University of Salamanca's Patio de Escuelas, Hotel Rector occupies an early 20th-century mansion on Calle Rector Esperabe. The building retains its carved stone facade and wrought-iron entrance, with thirteen rooms arranged across three quiet floors.

Rooms are individually furnished with antique pieces and heavy drapes; upper suites face the cathedral spires above the old-city roofline. A small reading lounge off the entrance hall serves as the informal common space — no in-house restaurant, but staff handle dinner reservations at nearby tabernas in the university quarter.

The Plaza Mayor, Spain's most complete baroque square, lies a four-minute walk north. The Roman bridge over the Tormes river is ten minutes on foot heading south.
