Ko Chang sits in the Gulf of Thailand, roughly 310 km southeast of Bangkok in Trat Province. The island covers 429 sq km, making it Thailand's second-largest island after Phuket. The east coast, including Salak Phet Bay, remains largely undeveloped and suits travellers seeking local fishing village atmosphere.
